[+] GOLDWINE ON C, voided shortcross with quatrefoils in angles, 1.31g, 11h (North 968/1; Spink 1348A), dark tone, slightly irregular flan, softened but fine; also, ii) John (1199-1216), Class Vb2, Canterbury, Hugh, similar, rev. + hVE • ON • CANTE, voided shortcross with quatrefoils in angles, 1.43g, 12h (SCBI 56 [Mass], 1543 same dies; North 970; Spink 1351), clipped flan with softening to lower portrait, toned, fine / very fine, with old collector's ticket stating 'Ex Hoard'; iii) Henry III (1216-1272), 'Longcross', Class 3bc, c. 1248-1250, London, Nicole, crowned bust facing, rev. NICOLE ON LVND, voided long cross with central pellet, trio of pellets at angles, 1.47g, 12h (C&T L307; North 987; Spink 1363), toned, fine to very fine; additionally, iv) Edward I (1272-1307), Great Recoinage, 'Longcross' Penny, Class 4d, London, crowned bust facing, rev. CIVITAS LOND[ON], long cross, trio of pellets at angles, 1.31g, 8h (North 1026; Spink 1397), softly struck to peripheries, nonetheless toned, near very fine; lastly, v) Edward II (1307-1327), Canterbury, Class 15, as last, rev. CIVITAS CANTOR, 1.43g, 5h (North 1065; Spink 1466), toned, nice portrait, good fine to very fine (5)
