1899 Autograph letter to Mr Rodd from Cairo in both English and German, about visiting England, signed "R. Slatin"; with a signature on piece "Rudolph von Slatin" and a rare studio photograph by G. Lekegian & Co, of Cairo, showing him in full uniform with medals, orders and decorations, inscribed in German, signed "R.von Slatin" and dated 13 August 1903.
A fascinating group of items relating to an influential character who was kept prisoner of the Mahdi and his successor for eleven years, fought at Omdurman ending his career as Inspector General of the Sudan from 1900-1914 (3)
