Guernsey Identity Card, No. 17151, issued to 'Cecil James LeSauvage', with his photograph stapled to the card and German overstamps, also noting 'Scar left cheek', very fine

Cecil James LeSauvage was born on Guernsey on 8 February 1893. During the Great War he served with 'D' Company, 7th Battalion, Royal Irish Fusiliers (No. 23255) and was with the 7th Draft of the 2nd Battalion, Royal Guernsey Light Infantry (No. 41) on formation. He suffered a gunshot wound to his hand on 5 September 1916 and latterly served with the Royal Defence Corps. During the Second World War he lived at No. 2 Sarnia, Cottages, Cobo Castel.
