Arthur Coker was born at Coventry on 14 May 1894 but was living on Guernsey upon the outbreak of the Great War. He served in France with the Royal Guernsey Light Infantry (No. 237) and was wounded and taken a Prisoner of War on 13 April 1918, being repatriated on 5 December 1918. During the Second World War he lived at Westbourne Grange, St Peter Port.

Ellen Louise Coker (nee Smith) was born on Guernsey on 6 January 1893. She lived at home with her husband during the Second World War.
