Albert Jackson was born in 1898 and lived at Birkenhead prior to enlistment, while working as a Storekeeper for the Oceanic Steamship Company. Attesting with the Royal Field Artillery on 11 May 1916 at Preston, Jackson was posted to France on 12 August 1916. He was severely wounded by a Gas Shell on 20 March 1918 while with his unit. Transferring to the Army Reserve on 28 September 1919 he was demobilised on 21 March 1920; sold together with handwritten research and a copied M.I.C.
