Ernest G. Sims was born at Grays, Essex and enlisted at Battersea. He served in France from 19 May 1915 and died of wounds on 6 June 1916, aged 23. Buried in the Etaples Military Cemetery, he was the son of Mr and Mrs H. Sims of 119 Waverley Road, Reading.
