The Lot represents the sacrifice of two of the three sons of Mr and Mrs H. Claridge during the Great War.

Sydney Herbert Claridge was born at Fulham and enlisted at Ilford. He served in France from 4 January 1915 and was killed in action on 3 March 1916 whilst serving with the 2nd Battalion. He is buried in the Rue-du-Bois Military Cemetery, Fleurbaix.

Albert Augustus Claridge served in France from 28 March 1915 and was killed in action on 13 May 1915. He is commemorated upon the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.
