William George Marlborough lived at Ilford and enlisted London. He served in France from 17 February 1915 and was killed in action on 1 July 1916 when the unit attacked Gommecourt and is buried in the Gommecourt British Cemetery. These Medals were sent to his mother Mrs F.P.Marlborough, 157 Thorold Road, Ilford, Essex; sold together with the issuance the letters for the Medals and their boxes.
