William Hector Richards served in France with the 4th Battalion, Middlesex Regiment from 21 September 1914. The unit went 'over the top' on the First Day of the Battle of the Somme but Richards was accidentially killed on 13 July 1916. He is buried in the Warlincourt Halte Cemetery, Saulty.
