Victory Medal 1914-19 (3) (160935 G. E. Pitchford. C.P.O. R.N.); (306519 A. J. Douglas. Mech. R.N.); (M.28017 H. Bratley. E.R.A. 4. R.N.), minor contact marks, overall very fine (3)

George Edwin Pitchford was born at Rythe, Kent on 8 May 1875. Enlisting as a Boy class II on 24 June 1891 he served for many years aboard such vessels as Superb, Hood and Repulse, being promoted Petty Officer aboard the latter on 18 January 1899. Further promoted Chief Petty Officer while serving ashore on 9 October 1907 he served most of the war ashore except for a brief stint aboard H.M.S. Lord Nelson from 19 November 1916-19 September 1917. Pitchford was demobilised on 25 February 1919; sold together with a copied service record.

Alfred John Douglas was born at Nowich, Norfolk on 17 May 1884, having worked as an engine fitter he enlisted with the Royal Navy on 19 May 1904. Seeing service aboard such vessels as H.M.S. King Alfred, Pathfinder and Acteaon he was promoted Stoker Petty Officer on 4 March 1910.

In an abrupt change of role Douglas was appointed Mechanic on 1 July 1914 while at H.M.S. Pembroke I and served the bulk of the war with the town class cruiser H.M.S. Lowestoft joining her on 9 April 1915. He was demoblised with the rank of Mechanic on 9 January 1922; sold together with a copied service record.

Harold Bratley was born at Hull, Yorkshire on 24 February 1895. Enlisting with the Royal Navy on 2 June 1917 with the rank of Engine Room Artificer class IV, he saw service aboard several ships including H.M.S. Caeser and Astraea. Bratley was demobilised on 19 August 1919; sold together with a copied service record.
