(x) NGC PF61 | George IV (1820-1830), Pattern Proof Crown, 1826 SEPTIMO, by Wyon after Chantrey, bare head left, rev. crowned shield with elaborate garnish, lettered edge downwards, 6h (L&S 27; Bull 2336; ESC 257; Davies 151; Spink 3806), coffee-grey toning over residually brilliant surfaces, the faintest contact marks under magnification otherwise pleasingly problem-free, the obverse tone perhaps a touch unnatural, but the reverse handsomely honest, a pleasingly bold extremely fine, rare, as issued in the 'first English Proof Set', in NGC holder, graded PF61 (Cert. #2813501-001)
