(x) NGC MS61 | Victoria (1837-1901), 'Young Head' Crown, 1844 VIII, star stops, young head left, with two ornate fillets, W. WYON R.A. on truncation, rev. crowned shield in wreath, incuse lettered edge upwards, 6h (Bull 2561; ESC 280; Spink 3882), sporadic bagmarks and slightly bright, otherwise quite brilliant, the reverse handsomely honest and thus a choice example for this especially difficult series, a majestic and bold extremely fine / uncirculated, in NGC holder, strictly graded MS61 (Cert. #4657959-001)

In the cataloguer's earnest opinion a sharper coin than an equivalent NGC MS61 sold at our Spink NYINC 367 (17 January 2021, lot 212) for $3,500 wherein the portrait was described as 'almost extremely fine'.
