Alexander Stedward Crawford was born on 6 October 1896 and was a native of London Street, Calton, Glasgow. He entered the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve on 7 December 1914 and served with the Benbow Battalion. Having served on Gallipoli and thence transferred to the Hood Battalion. He was killed in action on 13 November 1916 and is commemorated upon the Thiepval Memorial; sold together with condolence slip.
