Harry Watcham, a native of Chadwell Heath, Essex, served in France with the 9th London Regiment from 4 November 1914 and was wounded by gas poisoning on 11 November 1915. He was transferred to the 29th Battalion, London Regiment in December 1916 and was discharged with a Silver War Badge for his wounds on 6 March 1919.
