Harold Atterbury Guffick was born at Fulford, Yorkshire in 1889, the son of John and Louisa Guffick of Main Street, Fulford. Serving with the 2nd Battalion, West Yorkshire Regiment; Guffick entered the war in France on 5 November 1914. He was with this unit early in the war although at some stage he did serve attached to 8th Division Headquarters. Discharged to the Class 'Z' reserve on 21 March 1919. Guffick was married at York in July 1932 to Ada Dorothy Bowen. He died not long later in January 1937; sold together with West Yorkshire Regiment cap badge with unofficial pin clasp.
