Three: Private F. Watson, West Yorkshire Regiment, who served in Albania with the Scutari International Occupation Force in 1913 and was wounded in action at Neuve Chapelle in 1915

Frank Watson was born at Kimberworth, Sheffield in December 1891 and was a pit pony driver by trade upon his joining the West Yorkshire Regiment at York on 7 July 1910. Posted to the 2nd Battalion in September 1912, Watson was present with the Scutari International Occupation Force, which comprised some 300 Officers and men of the 2nd Battalion, besides Army Service Corps, Royal Army Medical Corps and Army Veterinary Corps who were landed from the Black Prince and who marched some 28 miles into Scutari on 7 June 1913.

The unit were recalled to Malta in June 1914 and Watson served in France during the Great War from 5 November 1914. He was wounded in action on 13 March 1915 during the Battle of Neuve Chapelle and was invalided home on account of the gunshot wounds to his arm and head the next day. He had a brief spell in the Royal Flying Corps and Royal Defence Corps in late 1918, before rejoining the 3rd Battalion, West Yorkshire Regiment in February 1919, being discharged on 7 March 1919, also in receipt of a Silver War Badge; sold together with copied research.
