Percy Lloyd was born at Leyton Low, Essex in 1882, the son of Frederic and Ada Lloyd. His father died young on 11 February 1887 and Lloyd's mother remarried in December 1899 his new stepfather being a John Fielder of 19 Duckett Road, Harringay, London. Lloyd lived at that address with his mother and stepfather and is listed in 1911 as working as a Clerk. However with the outbreak of the Great War he enlisted with 1/6 London Regiment, serving in France from 18 August 1915. Lloyd was killed when his Battalion attacked High Wood on 15 December 1916 during the Battle of Flers–Courcelette. He is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial; sold together with copied M.I.C. and Commonwealth War Graves details.
