Arthur Ernest Andrews was born at Hampstead, London in 13 August 1892, the son of Henry and Keziah Andrews of 1 Lower Cross Road, Hampstead. He worked as a milkman prior to enlistment with 1st/7th Battalion at Nottingham. Andrews was killed on the First Day of the Somme when 1st/7th Battalion advanced on Gommecourt. He is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial; sold together with copied M.I.C., Commonwealth War Graves details and a copy of the memorial scroll sent to his next-of-kin.
