Great War Bronze Memorial Plaque (Arthur Leonard Dale), good very fine
Arthur Leonard Dale was born at Barry Dock, Glamorgan in 1892 and enlisted with the 2nd Battalion, South Wales Borderers in Brecon. This Battalion was in Tientsin when war broke out in August 1914 and disembarked at Laoshan Bay on 23 September to support the Japanese army besieging the German Concession of Tsingtao. They were engaged in an assault on the night of 4-5 November and during this fighting Dale was killed, he is commemorated upon the Sai Wan Memorial, Hong Kong; sold together with a typed biographical note and copied Commonwealth War Graves Details.
