Victory Medal 1914-19 (2. Lieut. B. E. Mitchell.), good very fine

Bertram Earnshaw Mitchell, a native of Southampton, was born in 1890 and went out to Canada before the Great War. Returning home, he served in France with the 18th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers from 14 November 1915. Mitchell was commissioned into the 7th Battalion, East Lancashire Regiment and died of fever contracted whilst in the service on 4 February 1917. He is buried in the Etaples Military Cemetery.
