Victory Medal 1914-19 (Capt. T. M. Guthrie.), good very fine
Thomas Maule Guthrie was born at Brechin, Angus on 11 June 1870 and had served as a Lieutenant in the 2nd (Angus) Volunteer Battalion, The Black Watch, resigning his commission on 31 March 1906. During the Great War he served on the Western Front as a Captain with the Royal Highlanders, attached to the Northumberland Fusiliers.
He was elected as a Coalition Liberal Member of Parliament (MP) for Moray and Nairn at an unopposed by-election on 21 June 1922. He was re-elected at the 1922 general election as a National Liberal, narrowly beating a Liberal Party opponent. Guthrie died on 30 March 1943; sold together with copied research.
