Victory Medal 1914-19 (2. Lieut. E. T. P. Thomas), contact marks, very fine
Edward Trevor Powell Thomas enlisted with 28th Battalion (Artists Rifles), London Regiment on 2 December 1915. He served in France from 21 April 1916 and was promoted Lance-Corporal on 6 January 1917. Admitted to hospital for Myalgia he was transferred to 24th General Hospital and diagnosed with French Fever, returning to England on 13 May 1917. While here he was Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant with 28th Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers on 2 August 1917. Returning to the front he suffered from a gunshot wound to the left forearm on 28 June 1918 at the Foret de Nieppe during an attack in that area by 31st Division. Treated first at 93 Field Ambulance he was later evacuated to 14th General Hospital and later to Leith War Hospital; sold together with copied research including service records, M.I.C. and an extract relating to the actions of 28th Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers.
