British War Medal 1914-20 (44787 Pte. J. H. Moyst. Welsh R.), heavy contact wear and edge bruising, fair

James Henry Moyst was born at Barry, Glamorgan in 1890, the son of James and Eliza Moyst of 1 Davies Street, St. Cadoxton, Barry. Enlisting at Cardiff with the 18th Battalion, Welsh Regiment he served as a signaller and was listed as wounded and missing on 13 April 1918, a POW record suggests that he might have been captured alive however he died before he could be released. Moyst is commemorated upon the Ploegsteert Memorial and the Barry Memorial; sold together with a typed biographical note and copied prisoner of war record.
