The St. Albans Collection of English Gold Coins | NGC AU55 | George I (1714-1727), Two-Guineas, 1717, laureate head right, rev. crowned shields cruciform, nine strings to harp, emblem-adorned sceptres in angles, edge obliquely milled, 16.74g, 5h (MCE 242; EGC 499; Spink 3627), residually lustrous with ochre-reddish tone overlying such in recesses, a pleasing very fine / a really good very fine, with fulsome eye appeal further augmenting the technical qualities, a very seldom encountered date in commerce, with NGC 'St Albans' Certification, graded AU55 (#6295553-030)
