1841 (26 May) the 'Victoria and Albert' second type envelope with side panels lettered "A" and "V" at right (seriffed type) addressed to Coldstream bearing 1841 1d. red-brown plate 8, HE (margins nearly all round) tied by Kelso Maltese Cross in black, the reverse with faint strikes of Kelso and Coldstream boxed datestamps; some peripheral imperfections and light toning at top. An attractive and appealing example of this very rare envelope. Photo
