1915-19 a large group of fourteen ALS from John Jellicoe, 1st Earl Jellicoe and David Beatty, 1st Earl Beatty, seemingly the majority to Vice Admiral Sir Montague Browning, written aboard S.S. Corinthic, Iron Duke and Grand Fleet with plenty of interesting content relating to operations in this period including Scapa Flow, much of it centring around the threat of submarines including a lengthy typed memorandum from Jellicoe with reference to submarines and the difficulties of combatting the layman's understanding of the process of spotting submarines, one complaining of the negative affects of entertaining ladies aboard vessels
