Royal Bounty for the Birth of Triplets
1916, a group including the typed application made by Jean Munsie Harrison of Toronto titled "The Matter of Triplets" in which she declares that together with Gordon Robert Harrison they have given birth to triplets in Grace Hospital, Winnipeg on April 22, 1916, that they are in "reduced circumstances financially", and as such apply for the King's Bounty.
Followed by a typed letter on 'department of the secretary of state of canada' headed paper reading "I have the honour to inform you that His Majesty the King has been pleased to grant to you the King's Bounty, as the mother of triplets", enclosing £3, signed by Fleming Blanchard McCurdy, then Under-Secretary of State.
Offered together with three £1 notes of the period, No.s 00956, 00957 and 00958 that appear to have been folded in a similar way; these may well have been the notes gifted by the King. The documents with slightly crude repairs nevertheless an unusual group.
