H.R.H. Prince George, The Duke of York
1892 (26 Dec.) ALS over seven sides of "Sandringham, Norfolk" headed mourning letter paper to Sir Francis de Winton, Controller of the Household of the Duke and Duchess of York with philatelic interest. Reading:
"I am sending you six letters. 1. From the stamp man, who has sent me a small collection of stamps to choose from, but as I have left my books in London I can do nothing with them, will you tell him that I will keep them for a little time if he will allow me, & with regard to the proofs & he better send them to Mr. Ferrary
2. From Vella the boatman at Malta who says he has sent some oranges, he is a great bore, but under the circumstances I think you better send him 1 or 2 £.
3. From Cutts who sends an Xmas card & wants a pension, I don't want the card & I'm afraid he won't get the pension."
Writing further with details of renovations at York House. Signed "George". A wonderful letter
