1873 envelope (the original enclosed letter was dated Hope Fountain, 25th September) from Frank Oates to Susan Oates in England, bearing Transvaal 1872 thickish wove paper, fine roulette, 6d. cancelled by central four-ring target, in combination with Cape of Good Hope 1864-65 4d. pair (one with blunt corner) being affixed over manuscript "betaald 1/6", cancelled by "1" obliterator, showing red crayon "2" and Potchefstroom c.d.s. (5.1) overstruck by Cape Town c.d.s. (22.1) with Leeds arrival d.s. (10.3) on reverse; the envelope with two pinholes at upper left and the adhesives slightly buckled where they overhang the envelope. A rare and attractive cover. Photo
