1855 (17 Feb.) entire letter from Cape Town to London and redirected locally, marked "p Str C G Hope", bearing 1855 4d. deep blue with mainly good to large margins (touched along bottom right) tied by triangular obliterator, showing manuscript "8" (deleted) and, on reverse, despatch and arrival datestamps; upon redirection 1d. "star" affixed and cancelled; the face panel with repaired tear towards left and with heavy horizontal filing crease, well away from adhesives. Photo
