Charles I (1625-1649), Briot's Second Milled Coinage, 1638-1639, crowned bust left, value behind, rev. cross moline over square-topped shield, lozenge stops, edge plain, 5.87g, 7h, m.m. anchor (Brooker 728A same reverse die; North 2305; Spink 2859), a radiating die break through AVSPICE and a hint of rub to portrait, otherwise a richly cabinet toned example, a really pleasingly good very fine, seldom encountered so fine and without the unsightly adjustment marks
