Private Ship Letters during the Second Contract
1863 ((19 Sept.) envelope from London East India & London Shipping Co.'s steamer "p Queen of the South" to Cape Town, franked at 4d. and with arrival datestamp on reverse, and 1863 (6 Oct.) envelope (no flap) from Cape Town to Ireland, carried on the Whiteadder (carrying tea from Hankow on behalf of John Willis & Sons) bearing white paper 4d. blue with good to large margins mainly all round and clearly cancelled, Ennis arrival datestamp (19.11) alongside, despatch and Plymouth Ship Letter datestamps on reverse, also 1865 (20 Sept.) envelope "per H.M. Troop Ship Tamar" via Simons Town" to Cornwall, bearing 1/- green cancelled "2" with despatch and Cape Town datestamps alongside. An interesting trio
