The Service to Mauritius via Natal, From The United Kingdom
1864 (Oct.) mourning envelope from Gosport per Athens from Devonport to inaugurate the Cape Town to Mauritius service, bearing 6d. only as an underpaid packet letter with 6d. to pay plus a fine of one rate for a total of "1/6"; 1864 (3 Nov.) envelope from Chatham to Cape Town carried on the fifth passage of the Roman and then the Anglian to Durban on the east coast service from Cape Town (the second sailing under that arrangement) showing "2" accountancy handstamp; and 1866 (Sept.) entire from London to Pietermarizburg, carried by the third voyage of the Norseman to Cape Town and then the Dane (II) from Cape Town to Durban en route to Mauritius, bearing 2d. strip of three and 6d. at the packet letter rate of 1/-
