1858 (26 July) entire (less side flaps) ex the Feilden correspondence from Durban "per Madagascar to the Cape" to Eccles, bearing 3d. rose placed sideways, cancelled and tied by Crown datestamp in blue, large handstruck "6d" R1 at left, the reverse with "devonport/packet letter" (P3), Manchester and Eccles (5.10) datestamps all in blue. Natal had not adopted the Union Colonial Rate system of colonial postage of 3d. paid. Packet rate of 6d. single. Photo
