1857 (Feb.) envelope from London to Pietermaritzburg, returned to London for payment of the "1/-" sea post, showing "returned/for1/-/postage" handstamp alongside two different London datestamps for 5 February, carried by the Harbinger on her first outward voyage from Dartmouth to Cape Town, just missing the Natal connection, sent overland to Port Elizabeth to catch the Rennie steamer Madagascar, Crown arrival datestamp (5.4) on face.
