1819 (15 Nov.) entire letter from Middleharnis, Netherlands to Cape Town and prepaid in the Netherlands, shipped via London and showing oval-framed "Post Paid Ship Lr/Crown/london" (S41) though carried to the Cape as an India Letter, and 1826 (10 Oct.) entire letter from Amsterdam to Cape Town, presumably taken by a vessel destined for Batavia which bypassed Cape Town, showing "post-office/cape of good hope" oval datestamp (DSL1) and fine circular-framed "post office/Crown/simons town"
