1821-39 entires/entire letters (18) largely written from Cape Town and nearly all to London, half showing Crowned "general post office/cape of good hope" DSL4 datestamps and with India Letter handstamps comprising Brighton (2, one in red and written by James Edward Alexander at Cedarberg to Sir John Phillipart, military historian in London), Deal (3), Dover (4, one in red, one written by Johann Franz Drege, apothecary at Paarl and probably posted there), Falmouth (2, one in red), Gravesend in red, Hastings in red, London in red having originally the pilot for posting in Falmouth, Plymouth (2), Portsmouth (2); a few faults in places, strikes fair to superb
