1821 (20 Dec.) military appointment appointing Charles Makepeace Lieutenant in the Fourth of the Royal Irish Regiment of Dragoon Guards. Countersigned "R Peel" by Sir Robert Peel and "R Turkin", Secretary at War. Complete with wafer seal and £1, 10/- revenue stamp, document in generally good condition, at one point pasted into album but successfully removed, showing filing endorsement on reverse.
