A coloured acquatint, 1849, and a coloured print, probably second quarter to mid-20th century

The acquaint glazed within a narrow brown frame with inner gilt slip, 330mm x 274mm. Engraved by J. Harris after Henry Martens and published by Ackermann, 14th April 1849, as part of Ackermann's (small) series 'Costumes of the British Army 1849-53'. This is number 6 in the series and depicts a mounted officer of the '2nd North British Dragoons (Scotch Greys)' in full dress uniform with his mounted orderly.

The coloured print glazed within a 'Hogarth' frame, 343mm x 267mm. Printed by the Allied Trades Council of New York State and numbered 47774-PP and 155, it depicts a mounted officer of The Royal Scots Greys in full dress uniform of the period c.1918-40.

Both in generally good condition. (Lot)
