Four: Marine A. S. Cross, Royal Marines, later Police Constable, Metropolitan Police, who served with 'K' Company, 42 Commando and the Fleet Protection Group, joining the Metropolitan Police he earned a Chief Superintendent's Commendation for his service during the London Riots in 2011

Andrew Stephen Cross joined the Royal Marines in June 1999 and passed for duty in April 2000, serving his operational deployments with 'K' Company, 42 Commando. Serving in Sierra Leone in 2000 on Operations Palliser and Silkman. He thence served on Operation Banner in 2002 and in Iraq, before joining the Fleet Protection Group, becoming a Team Commander and promoted Lance Corporal. Passing a Military Ski Instructors Course, he taught Marines on operations in the Arctic environment and represented 42 Commando at Cross Country skiing. He also represented the Marines at Karate and was a member of the Dragon Boat Team.

Discharged on 11 October 2009, he joined the Metropolitan Police and was in Islington during the London Riots of 2011. He was awarded a Commendation by Chief Superintendent M. Wise on 29 September 2011:

'For professionalism and willingness to deploy and intervene in incidents of disorder and looting during a period of high demand on Islington Borough.'
