D.C.M. London Gazette 28 March 1918:
For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in reorganising the Company after all the Officers had been killed, continuing the attack and holding a very forward position. On receipt of orders he managed to bring his men out of action, though practically surrounded.'
Albert Victor Draper, a native of Watford, served with the 7th Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers. He was decorated for his fine actions displayed during their attack around Houthulst Forest on 26 October 1917; sold together with copied MIC and file of research.
