William James Smith was born in 1887 at Madras, his father having formerly served in 'E' Battery, 16th Brigade, Royal Artillery. He was awarded his Medal in I.A.O. 290 of 1 June 1914. Smith died of tuberculosis on 18 July 1827; sold with copied verification.
