Sussex), mounted as worn, official correction to number of first, otherwise good very fine, with corresponding miniature awards (14)

Ronald Ernest Pryor was born on 1 May 1901 at Brighton, the eldest son of corn merchant Ernest George Pryor and his wife Annie Louisa of 22 Cleveland Road, Brighton, Sussex. After serving 11 years and 352 days in the ranks followed by a further nine years and 31 days as Warrant Officer 2nd Class and R.Q.M.S. in the Royal Sussex Regiment, Pryor was appointed to an emergency commission with the King's Own Scottish Borderers on 6 June 1940, being made Lieutenant & Quartermaster (London Gazette 9 July 1940, refers). Promoted Captain & Quartermaster on 6 June 1943, he was further advanced Acting Major on 19 August 1944. Pryor survived the war and died on 3 August 1984 whilst living at 9 Carlton Court, Maple Road, London.
