Frank Kenneth Glass was born on 25 Febraury 1886, the son of Francis Lauglois and Margaret Hardman Glass of Claire Fontaine Street Quebec. With four years of previous service in the Queen's Own Canadian Hussars, he enlisted in Quebec on 29 September 1914 whilst working as a wholesale leather merchant. Having landed in France he was appointed Lance Corporal on 10 April 1915, before he was killed in action on 23 April 1915. He lost his life during the Second Battle of Ypres which had been the first action for his unit. In just short of a weeks fighting they had suffered 543 casualties, Glass included. He is commemorated upon the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.
