An unusual Shanghai Emergency 1937 group of four awarded to Private J. F. Holloway, Shanghai Volunteer Corps, late Army Service Corps - a member of the 'Shanghai Scottish'

John Francis Holloway lived at 10 Frederick Street, Newtown, Southampton but clearly had Scottish blood. He served with the Motor Transport section of the Army Service Corps in France from 17 July 1915 and was released in April 1919. Venturing to the Far East, he was a member of the Shanghai Volunteer Corps and served with the Shanghai Scottish. Holloway was on duty by the time of the Emergency in 1937, when Japanese troops invaded the Chinese part of the City of Shanghai in August-November.
Sold together with the following artefacts and research;

Shanghai Scottish Regimental bronze fob, marked 'TC' for Tuck Chang to reverse.

The City Police or Fire Whistle, by Harvey Cooke & Co., Shanghai.
