(MPO-1b), framed "paquebots/de la/mediterranee" and, on reverse, framed "british/foreign"; and 1842 (27 Apr.) entire letter to Athens and (3 Sept.) entire letter (some light stains) to Palermo, both showing fine "Malta Post Office" h.s. (MPO-1a), the latter with two strikes (one inverted) and also showing "vapore" h.s. and Messina transit d.s., both in red
