1817 (27 Feb.) soldier's entire letter to Glasgow, marked "From Gunner William Caine, Major Gambles Compy, 6 Battn Royal Engineers", countersigned by Commanding Officer, showing manuscript "1d" and mainly fine "paid/malta" h.s. (MSP-1aR); a little soiled and some faults caused by heavy filing crease which crosses the handstamp. Rare. Photo
