Envelope from London to Wyndham at the House of Assembly, Cape Town bearing a combination of G.B. 2d. (3) and Ship 1d. cancelled at London (19.10), sent by Wyndham for carriage in the race and complete with a letter from Chand saying that he had to withdraw from the race was unable to carry the cover but that he had autographed it for him. Most unusual

Note: Major-General Dewan Misri Chand was born in 1907. He became the first Indian to win the prestigious Viceroy's Cup Air Race in 1936. He is commemorated on a stamp issued by India in 1909
