Trial Separations
The following group of separations were all applied by hand to imperforate sheets. Naturally the results were often poorly cut and badly aligned. Examples with the design intact are rarely encountered and are worth a considerable premium
Serrated Perforation 16 at Nelson
2d. blue showing portions of adjoining stamp at left, serrates intact, or nearly so, on all sides, lightly cancelled "12" at Wanganui (Petre). Almost certainly the finest known example of this rarity. R.P.S. Certificate (2000). S.G. 23, £3,750. Photo
