1895 (23 Apr.) envelope and letter from Ralph Irish to his parents in South Dakota bearing third issue 1c. tied by Kewkiang Local Post oval dater with prepaid U.S. 1c. Franklin in blue and 2c. Washington (2) in red tied by "u.s. postal agency/shanghai" duplex (4.5) and, on the reverse, a fine strike of the despatch duplex, San Francisco (27.5) and part Fort Meade arrival. With the long original letter on Phoenix Society note paper which includes, " ... Business still booming, I am just now printing 20000 postal cards for the Local Post ...the war peace is declared, but the end is not yet. An alliance between Japan and China may mean that we foreigners will have to get out. ..."; the 1c. local post stamp with some aging around edges..

1895年4月23日由九江之Ralph Irish寄給其在美國雙親的信函, 貼第三版壹分票, 銷紫紅色九江工部橢圓形日戳, 旁貼美國1仙一枚及2仙兩枚, 銷4月5日上海美國郵政代辦戳, 在封背蓋完整清晰的分發戳及5月27日三藩市中轉戳, 及只見到部份的Fort Meade, South Dakota的到達戳; 此信函內附原信, 當中提及中央中國印刷廠( Central China Press)正在印刷20,000枚明信片, 並又提到中日甲午戰爭情況; 而Ralph Irish正是中央中國印刷廠的經理人, 該印刷廠當時是負責印製九江所有郵票的, 凸顯此信函在九江郵史上的重要性; 罕見, 保存完好._x000D_ _x000D_ 源流: 1967年10月D.M.
